Is TG Downloader safe to use?
TG Downloader connects directly to Telegram from your computer. Your session and downloaded files stay local, and media does not pass through our servers.
Do I need a Telegram API ID or API hash?
No. TG Downloader works without a developer API ID, API hash, or custom Telegram application.
Does TG Downloader ask for my Telegram password or verification code?
Only use the normal Telegram sign-in screen inside the app. Never send a password, verification code, API hash, or session file to support or another person.
Can I download from private groups?
You can download content your Telegram account is allowed to access. The active account must already be a member of the private group or channel.
Can I download restricted Telegram content?
TG Downloader is intended for content you can lawfully access and archive. Permission and local law still apply.
Is there a file size limit?
The app does not add its own file size limit. The actual maximum depends on Telegram, your account type, and the source message.
How does automatic monitoring work?
Add a channel or group to the monitor list. While the app is running, it checks for new messages and downloads files that match your filters.
Can I use multiple Telegram accounts?
Yes. The desktop client supports multiple accounts and lets you switch the active account without completing the sign-in flow again.
Which operating systems are supported?
TG Downloader is available for Windows and macOS. Check the download section for the current Windows, Intel Mac, and Apple Silicon builds.
